Allman to Boost Barlows Business

2 October 2006

LEADING interior solutions specialist, Sheffield-based Barlows, is looking to boost its already strong market position with the appointment of Sallyann Allman as business development manager.

Sallyann joins the company with an extensive education in media and marketing and four years experience in the public relations industry, working across a diverse range of trade and consumer campaigns.

Her appointment coincides with the company’s on-going success as project managers in the retail sector and the employment of new streamlined operating principles. By managing the entire lifecycle of a retail project, Barlows offer its clients quicker store turnaround on refurbishment and new store programmes, combined with up to 25% lower costs.

In her new role Sallyann is responsible for the sales and marketing function across the whole company. It is a high profile position within Barlows and requires Sallyann to manage the sales team and be the first point of contact for new clients. Also responsible for marketing, she ensures full integration between both these areas of the business and that the company’s new business strategy is effectively communicated.

Sallyann says: “I’m delighted to join Barlows at this important and exciting time in its development. There have been numerous changes to the way that the company operates and we are now in the strongest position to manage the interior solution process for clients.

“Our various areas of high-level expertise within the business mean we can manage the entire lifecycle of a building from a retail perspective. This undoubtedly provides me with tremendous credentials to help grow Barlows’ business.

“I‘m also very much looking forward to developing our existing longstanding relationships with some of the key retail players – including Marks and Spencer, Arcadia and Sainsbury’s - and bringing even more big name clients to the company portfolio.”

Managing director Lee Walker says: “Following a major change of focus within the company, the sales and marketing is crucial to communicating our shift from traditional shop fitter to leading retail project managers. Sallyann will play a key role in our strategic development and will help to ensure that our new operating processes are implemented effectively and efficiently from a sales and marketing point of view.”
