Retail project management specialist Barlows has secured new partnerships with two of the UK’s leading high street retailers. It has completed the first in a series of new outlets for both Wilkinsons and Laura Ashley.

Barlows managing director Lee Walker says: “It is exciting to be working with two of the UK’s most rapidly expanding high street names. It is good to see that retailers are continuing to invest in new store openings and taking advantage of opportunities for expansion despite the more difficult trading conditions.

“Our retail clients are now more than ever looking to achieve best value, and a key part of this is achieving rapid completion so that stores can begin trading as soon as possible. Our use of ‘lean construction’ techniques has enabled us to reduce fit-out periods by as much as 50 per cent and improve quality to the point where we can hand over projects with very few or no defects at all. Improved efficiency results in earlier store openings which in the longer term is reflected in retailers’ bottom line.”
