SMaRT Venue
Barlows undertook a project for national charity First Step Trust in August 2009. Each year Barlows offers its services to a charity. This year, the conversion of the former art gallery into a coffee shop was chosen.
Barlows project managed and delivered the conversion and fit out in partnership with First Step Trust, a charity set up in 1996. Barlows took First Step Trust’s design concept and fully transformed the original gallery and woodwork shop into the new café.
A mixture of wood, stainless steel and glass was used throughout, alongside a colour scheme of aubergine and lime. Textured wallcoverings were used on feature walls, finishing the coffee shop with a modern and contemporary feel.
